She graduated in 1950 and since that time has continued her scientifical and professional careers, She earned the Ph.D. degree in 1968 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1970. She created and led, together with Gustaw Budzyński, the new didactical field of studies, unique then in Poland, Sound Engineering. Later on, they organized the Sound Engineering Department at the then Electronics Faculty.

Marianna Sankiewicz was particularly efficient and successful in pedagogic activities. She was employed for 17 years as Faculty Prodean and three years as Prorector of the Technical University of Gdańsk. In the meantime, she continued her collaboration with Polish Radio and Television, developing the production of stereophonic recordings on the air with the local broadcasting centre, organized by her. In 1977 she practized studio techniques at French Radio (ORTF) in Paris. She is author or co-author of more than 130 scientific articles and conference papers.

As member of the Audio Engineering Society, she initiated the activity of the Polish AES Section and became its first chairperson. She was later elected, for a two-year term, as AES Vice-President for the Central Europe Region. She completed her task successfully, having initiated activities in six newly-organized AES Sections in Eastern Europe. The following, she obtained from AES General Assembly an honourable citation for her achievements.

She is honorary member of the Polish Acoustical Society and Polish AES Section, and also, member of the French and Hellenic Acoustical Societies, as well as other scientific societies.

After one year's practicals in Warsaw he awarded his Ph.D. at Warsaw Technical University in 1965. Three years later, he created and led, together with Marianna Sankiewicz, a new didactical direction of studies, then unique in Poland, Sound Engineering. Later on, they organized the Sound Engineering Department at the then Faculty of Electronics.

In 1972 he.was promoted to the degree of Associate Professor and took over the leadership of the Department. In the meantime, he created and led the Department of Musical Acoustics at the Gdańsk Academy of Music. This period of his didactical activities created foundations for the formation of sound engineers in Poland. At the same time, he was highly active scientifically. He is author or co-author of more than 140 articles and conference papers. He led many scientific projects introduced into practice. He promoted five Ph.D. degrees and was reviewer of 18 dissertations. In 1976/77 he spent a year in Paris on stage at the C.N.E.T. and at the ORTF. In 1986 he was invited to Aalborg University where he acted as visiting professor in the year 1987/88.
