Gold Medal of the Poznan International Fair for the Intelligent Monitoring System
During the Poznan International Fair 2010, Multimedia Systems Department
presented the Intelligent Monitoring System on the Science for the Economy
exhibition. The system was awarded with the Gold Medal of PIF.
Only 18 products were awarded this year, including two solutions developed at
Gdansk University of Technology, Faculty of Electronic, Telecomunication and Informatics.

Prof. Bożena Kostek awarded
Prof. Bozena Kostek has been awarded Fellowship of the Audio Engineering Society during the opening ceremony of the 128th AES Convention being held on May 22-25 in London. The citation for Prof. Kostek's Fellowship award reads as follows: "In recognition of your outstanding contributions to the field of audio".

Department inventions appreciated at the international invention exhibition in Paris
The Foire de Paris - a great industrial exhibition - was held in Paris from 28 April to 9 May. During the exhibition, the Concours Lepine competition was organized to award best of the exhibited inventions. Multimedia Systems Department presented two multimodal interfaces. The gold medal was adjudged for the System for testing and therapy binocular vision and the bronze medal for the "Virtual Touchpad" that allows computer control by palm gestures.
The Concours Lepine is a part of the Foire de Paris - one of the greatest industrial exhibitions in Europe. This year, the competition was held from 28 April to 10 May. More than 570 innovations were presented during the exhibition.

Award for Prof. B. Kostek
Prof. Bozena Kostek was honored with the Best paper award for her cooauthored (B. Kunka) paper entitled Application of Gaze Tracking Technology to Quality of Experience Domain at IEEE MCSS'2010 (IEEE Multimedia Communications, Services and Security) conference that was held on May 6-7 in Krakow, PL.

Awards of Ministry of Science and Higher Education
The Multimedia Systems Department was awarded with 4 diplomas of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The ceremony was held on 8th March 2010 in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. The three diplomas were presented for the projects distinguished at various international trade fairs and exhibitions of inventions:
- Computer Aroma Interface;
- Gesture-based Computer Control System;
- Multimodal Interface to Control a Computer Using Gestures of the Lips and Tongue
The fourth diploma was for the particular activity in the promotion of inventions abroad.
